What does the “Nation’s Report Card” tell us about how American children are learning?
Assessing American children's educational progress with NAEP
Challenge
The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) is a congressionally mandated project administered by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).
Often called the “The Nation’s Report Card,” NAEP is the only nationally representative continuing assessment of what America’s students know and can do in various subject areas.
趣赢平台 has been selected to be responsible for sampling and data collection activities and the support and service center for NAEP through 2024, continuing work that we began in 1983.
Solution
趣赢平台 will conduct assessments of 4th-, 8th-, and 12th-graders in reading, mathematics, science, writing, technology and engineering literacy, U.S. history, and civics.
Most subjects will transition to next generation digitally based assessments on a large scale.
National assessments are conducted every year; state- and district-level assessments are conducted every other year. About 1 million students from 20,000 schools participate in NAEP assessments when states and district samples are assessed.
The Results
NAEP continues to collect, analyze, and produce valid and reliable data about the academic performance of students in order to provide timely and useful information to elected officials, education policymakers, and researchers.
